The PrimaLuceLab SESTO SENSO 3 SC is a state-of-the-art robotic focusing motor, expertly engineered for Schmidt-Cassegrain (SC), EdgeHD, RASA, and Maksutov telescopes that use an internal mirror focusing system. This third-generation unit combines precision, reliability, and modern connectivity into a sleek, all-in-one chassis.
Key Features
-
Direct Pulley Clamp (DPC):
A specially designed pulley-driven clamp securely attaches to the SC focuser’s knob. Thanks to this frictionless coupling, the motor can deliver highly precise focus control while still allowing smooth manual turning — all without backlash. -
Integrated Position Encoder + Automatic Position Recovery:
The built-in encoder continuously tracks the motor shaft’s rotation, so even if you adjust focus manually via the focuser knob, the system “remembers” the exact position. With the Automatic Position Recovery feature, the motor can detect movement and, after a customizable delay (0–20 seconds), return to the last known focus point — ideal for shared or public observatories. -
High Resolution Motor:
Offers up to 2 million micro-steps, enabling ultra-fine adjustments and stable, repeatable focusing — particularly beneficial for long-exposure astrophotography. -
Connectivity:
-
USB-C for wired connection to a computer or control unit (e.g., PrimaLuceLab’s EAGLE).
-
Built-in WiFi for wireless control via smartphone or tablet using the Virtual HandPad — no separate hand controller required.
