2" Rack & Pinion Focuser
Lunt Solar Systems’ 2" Rack & Pinion Focuser is a precision-engineered dual-speed focuser designed to deliver smooth, accurate, and repeatable focus control for both visual observation and high-resolution solar imaging. The focuser features a standard 2” drawtube with approximately 55–60mm of total travel, offering a fine 10:1 reduction ratio for effortless micro-adjustments—ideal for capturing sharp detail at high magnifications or with sensitive imaging setups. Built with robust materials and tight mechanical tolerances, it provides exceptional stability and a secure hold, even under heavy accessory loads of up to 3 kilograms (about 6.5 pounds).
This focuser comes standard on most Lunt Modular Telescopes (MT Series) including the 60MT, 80MT, and 100MT models. The 2" compression ring accepts both 2" and 1.25" accessories (adapter included) and attaches directly to the rear adapter plate using M68 or M90 threads, depending on the telescope’s aperture class. For users who prefer automated focusing, the Lunt 2" Rack & Pinion is fully compatible with ZWO EAF and Optec FocusLynx/ThirdLynx motor focus systems, making it a versatile and reliable choice for serious observers and astrophotographers alike.
