FlatMaster Neo 120 by Pegasus Astro
PegasusAstro's new retractable LED flat-field panel delivers a uniform illumination source for telescopes up to 120mm, ensuring high-quality flat-field frames for astrophotography and photometric captures.
Its adjustable lid can be precisely positioned between 0° and 270°, doubling as a protective cover against dust and moisture for your telescope lens.
Crafted from lightweight, aircraft-grade aluminum, the Flatmaster Neo offers a durable and robust design to safeguard your telescope lens.
Overview:
- Robust CNC Aluminium design (no plastic parts).
- Controlable and Dimmable LED Panel 0-100%.
- Retractable Servo Panel 0-270°.
- Manual Button (controls brightness or closes/opens panel).
- Dew heater on panel surface (adjustable 0-100% power).
- Temperature & Humidity Sensor.
- Light Sensor (detects day or night).
- Wi-Fi support. (Access Point or Wi-Fi client).
- Web Dashboard.
- ASCOM7 and ASCOM Alpaca ready.
- One cable operation (USB-C).
Dew Heater:
The device panel features an integrated dew heater that actively removes moisture when fully powered, ensuring a dry, dew-free surface. This prevents water droplets from getting trapped between the lid and the telescope lens after closing.
Additionally, a built-in temperature and humidity sensor automatically adjusts the heater based on calculated dew point levels. You can enable or disable this feature as needed or manually set and store the heater’s intensity.
A built-in light sensor further enhances automation by automatically closing the lid at sunrise.
Dimmable LED Panel and Retractable Panel:
Unlike other panels in the market, the FlatMaster can adjust its brightness from 0 to 100%. Forget sheets of paper between your telescope and the panel. Remote control the brightness of your panel. Store the brightness per filter and immediately retrieve the value you need.
The Flatmaster Neo can go up to very high brightness levels so it can easily support short exposures (2-3 seconds at f/7) with 3nm narrowband imaging filters.
The panel can be remotely controlled and adjusted between 0° and 270°. To prevent collisions with obstacles, you can set a custom maximum opening angle.
Designed to fit any telescope up to 120mm, FlatMaster Neo features a specialized silicone flange that ensures a light- and dust-proof seal around your optical elements.
Additionally, this flange helps shield the surrounding area (e.g., in shared host observatory) when the LED is illuminated during flat-frame calibration.
