The lifetimes of both the flashtube and modeling lamp are lengthened by the fan cooling in the high-impact polymer head.

The MCD400R comes with a 12′ sync cord, but its integrated radio receiver allows wireless triggering even through walls and other obstacles using the included transmitter.
