The primary difference between the Kodak Remote Control EC-2 and EC-3 is the addition of the autofocus override feature on the EC-3.
Both remotes offer the basic functions of:
- Forward/Reverse slide changing.
- Remote focus capability.
- A cabled connection, typically a 12-foot cord.
The EC-3 (which has a white dot and a grey focus button) includes an extra feature that allows the user to override the projector's autofocus function, giving manual control over the focus even on autofocus-enabled projectors. The EC-2 (which has a red dot and a black focus button) only provides basic remote focus without this override feature. This means the EC-2 is intended for use with projectors that have manual focus or non-overridable autofocus, while the EC-3 is more versatile for use with higher-end projectors that include autofocus.
