The Go2Nova Handset 8409V2 is the hand-controller component of the iOptron “Go2Nova” (GOTONOVA) system, designed for seamless computerized control of compatible strain-wave-gear equatorial telescope mounts. It gives you intuitive menu-driven operation, built-in database access for objects in the sky, and connectivity to computers or tablets for advanced control.

Large back-lit LCD display: A 4-line, 21-character display with back-lit LED buttons makes it easy to read in low light and navigate menus quickly.

User-friendly interface: The menus are organized to simplify setup, alignment and goto operation—even for those newer to computerized mounts.

Nine (9) motor slew speed settings: From slow (1×) up through MAX, you have fine control to center and guide your target smoothly.

Extensive celestial database: Includes ~212,000+ objects (galaxies, nebulae, star-clusters, planets etc) depending on firmware version.

USB & WiFi connectivity: A USB port allows for firmware upgrades and PC-mount control. WiFi support enables tablet/smart-device control (when compatible).

ASCOM compatible: For astrophotographers or computer-controlled setups, the handset supports standard computer-mount interface protocols.
Compatibility & Mount Support
This handset is explicitly designed for use with iOptron mounts that use strain-wave gear (sometimes called “hollow-shaft” or “StrainWaveGear” mounts). It is only compatible with the following mounts (or equivalents) per iOptron:
