The Celestron Luminos 23mm is a premium 2" ultra-wide-field astronomical eyepiece designed to provide expansive views of the night sky. With an 82° apparent field of view, 20mm of eye relief, and fully multi-coated six-element optics, it is well suited for viewing large deep-sky objects, star fields, open clusters, nebulae, and other extended celestial targets. The eyepiece is parfocal with other Luminos models and features a retractable eyecup and a filter-threaded 2" barrel.
Function:The 23mm focal length is particularly useful for wide-field observing and locating celestial objects before switching to higher-power eyepieces. Its wide 82° apparent field helps provide immersive views of star fields, open clusters, nebulae, and other large deep-sky objects. The 2" format also allows the eyepiece to take advantage of the wider light path available on compatible telescopes.
