Dew shields represent a critical aspect of optical tube preservation during field use. This particular Celestron Dew Shield DX works with both 6” and 8” versions of Celestron Schmidt–Cassegrain, EdgeHD, or RASA (with single dovetail) telescope to prevent them from having their corrector lens collect too much moisture. In addition, dew shields block stray light from penetrating the telescope, thus improving your night sky observing or astro-imaging experience.
Construction
Made especially for Celestron 6” and 8” aperture telescopes, this Dew Shield DX’s durable polyethylene plastic construction gives it a unique combination of elasticity and strength. For a more secure attachment to the optical tube, additional padding is included at the tube attachment edge. Optimal contrast for viewing and imaging is produced via a felt-lined interior that soaks up any extra stray light or condensation. In order to accommodate a 4" wide dovetail as well as create a more solid connection with the optical tube, the large dovetail cutout has been made both wider and deeper.
Attaching the Dew Shield Deluxe to your optical tube is easy thanks to the Velcro attachment points. Whether your optical tube is 6" or 8", simply adjust the Velcro for the correct fit.
Transportation and Storage
To save space when not in use, simply roll up your Dew Shield DX for easy transport and storage.
