The Askar V is a versatile modular apochromatic refractor system designed for astrophotography and visual observation. Instead of being limited to a single focal length, the Askar V includes interchangeable 60mm and 80mm triplet APO objective lenses, along with a reducer, field flattener, and focal extender.
Both objective lenses use a triplet air-spaced APO design with two ED glass elements for improved chromatic aberration correction and image clarity. By changing the objective lens and optical accessory, the Askar V can be configured for a wide range of focal lengths from 270mm to 600mm.
This makes the Askar V particularly useful for astrophotographers who want multiple imaging configurations without having to maintain several separate telescopes.
The included reducer provides a faster focal ratio and wider field of view for large deep-sky targets, while the field flattener is designed to improve edge-of-field performance for astrophotography. The 1.2x extender increases focal length for applications where additional image scale is desired.
The Askar V also features a 360° camera rotator, 1.25" and 2" visual adapters, a multifunctional handle, finder base, and M48/M54 photographic connections. A built-in 2" filter thread is provided on the photographic accessories.
