The Askar SQA130 is a large-aperture, fast Petzval astrograph designed for wide-field deep-sky astrophotography and high-resolution imaging. It features a 130mm aperture, 624mm focal length, and fast f/4.8 focal ratio, providing a combination of substantial light-gathering capability and a wide imaging field.
The SQA130 uses a five-element, fully air-spaced Petzval APO optical design incorporating two SD glass elements. The Petzval design provides integrated field flattening, eliminating the need for a separate field flattener and simplifying the imaging setup.
With a 55mm image circle, the SQA130 supports medium-format imaging while fully covering standard full-frame sensors with their 44mm image circle. Sharpstar specifies excellent star performance across the imaging field, with RMS star radius below 2 µm at the center and below 2.4 µm at the 55mm image-circle edge.
The SQA130 features a retractable dew shield that reduces the telescope's overall length for storage and transportation. The rear of the telescope includes M48, M54, and M68 adapters, providing flexible connection options for cameras and astrophotography accessories.
A 300mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate and multifunctional handle are included. The telescope is supplied in a protective carrying case.
