The Askar 80PHQ is a compact, long-focal-ratio refractive astrograph designed for astrophotography and visual observation. With an 80mm aperture and 600mm focal length, the 80PHQ provides a relatively long focal length in a compact optical tube while maintaining a flat imaging field suitable for full-frame cameras.

The 80PHQ uses a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical design incorporating two ED glass elements for improved chromatic aberration correction. Its integrated flat-field optical system eliminates the need for a separate field flattener, simplifying imaging setup and backfocus calculations. The 44mm image circle provides full-frame coverage.

A 3" rack-and-pinion focuser with 1:10 fine adjustment provides precise focusing, while the integrated rotator features graduated markings for accurate camera framing. Multiple rear adapter configurations provide M48, M54, M68, and M76 connections for photographic setups.

The telescope features a retractable dew shield, multifunction handle, tube rings, and a 300mm Vixen-style dovetail plate. An optional 0.76x reducer is available for a shorter effective focal length and faster imaging system.
