The Askar 80ED is a compact 80mm ED refractor designed for astrophotography and visual observation. Its 560mm focal length and f/7 focal ratio provide a versatile combination of image scale and field of view, while the two-element objective uses one ED glass element to help control chromatic aberration.
The 80ED can be used with optional field-flattening and reducing accessories for astrophotography, including a 1.0x flattener, 0.85x reducer, and 0.7x full-frame reducer. The compact optical tube is well suited for portable observing and imaging setups.
