The Askar 160APO is a large-aperture apochromatic refractor designed for demanding astrophotography and high-resolution visual astronomy. Its 160mm aperture and 1120mm focal length provide substantial light-gathering power and image scale for detailed views of the Moon, planets, galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters.

The 160APO uses a triplet air-spaced APO objective incorporating one ED glass element for improved chromatic aberration correction. Its native f/7 focal ratio provides a versatile combination of aperture, resolution, and focal length for both imaging and visual observation.

A rear retractable lens tube provides 115mm of adjustment and allows the optical configuration to be optimized for visual observation, the optional 1.0x full-frame flattener, or the optional 0.8x full-frame reducer.

The telescope includes an aluminum carrying case, a pair of heavy-duty tube rings, multifunction handle, and 400mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate. The optical tube is also designed to accommodate the optional Askar EAF electronic focuser.
