The Askar 151PHQ is a large-aperture, long-focal-length APO astrograph designed for serious deep-sky astrophotography as well as high-resolution visual observation. Its 151mm aperture and 1057mm focal length provide substantial light-gathering power and image scale for detailed imaging of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other deep-sky objects.
The 151PHQ uses a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical design incorporating two ED glass elements for excellent chromatic aberration control. Its self-flattening optical design produces a 60mm image circle, providing coverage well beyond a standard full-frame sensor and making the telescope suitable for larger-format imaging systems without requiring a separate field flattener.
A large 3.4" rack-and-pinion focuser includes a 360° rotator and finder base, providing a rigid and precise platform for astrophotography. The included adapter system provides M68, M54, and M48 connections, with the M48 adapter incorporating a built-in filter thread.
The telescope includes a retractable dew shield, heavy-duty dual tube rings, multifunction handle, 300mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate, four-piece photographic adapter set, and aluminum carrying case.
An optional 3" 0.7x flat-field reducer can reduce the system to approximately 740mm focal length at f/4.9 for a faster, wider-field imaging configuration.
