The Askar 130PHQ is a large-aperture, long-focal-length flat-field astrograph designed for demanding astrophotography as well as high-quality visual observation. With a 130mm aperture and 1000mm focal length, it provides excellent resolution for detailed deep-sky imaging while maintaining a flat imaging field suitable for large-format cameras.
The 130PHQ uses a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical design incorporating two ED glass elements for strong chromatic aberration control. Its integrated flat-field optical design eliminates the need for a separate field flattener, while the generous 60mm image circle provides coverage beyond full-frame and supports larger imaging sensors.
A rigid 3.4" focuser provides a solid platform for astrophotography and includes M68, M54, and M48 camera adapters along with a finder base. Multiple rear-thread configurations provide considerable flexibility when connecting cameras and imaging accessories.
The telescope includes sturdy dual tube rings, a multifunction handle, and a 300mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate. An aluminum carrying case is also included.
An optional 3" 0.7x flat-field reducer can be used to reduce the system to approximately 700mm at f/5.4, providing a wider field of view and faster imaging.
