The Askar 120APO is a large-aperture apochromatic refractor designed for both astrophotography and visual astronomy. Its 120mm aperture and 840mm focal length provide increased light-gathering power, resolution, and contrast while maintaining a practical f/7 focal ratio.

The 120APO uses a triplet air-spaced APO objective incorporating one ED glass element for improved chromatic aberration correction. The two-section optical tube can be configured for different applications, including use with a binoviewer.

A large 3.3" dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser provides a rigid platform for astrophotography, with approximately 100mm of focusing travel and 1:10 fine adjustment. A 360° precision rotator with graduated markings allows accurate camera framing and rotation.

The telescope includes two finder bases, a retractable dew shield, multifunction handle, tube rings, and a 290mm Vixen-style dovetail plate. An Oxford cloth carrying case is also included.

For astrophotography, optional 1x field flattener and 0.8x reducer accessories are available. The 1x flattener maintains the native f/7 focal ratio while correcting field curvature and coma. The 0.8x reducer converts the telescope to approximately 672mm at f/5.6 while providing field flattening and a 44mm full-frame image circle.
