The Askar 107PHQ is a high-performance flat-field APO astrograph designed for full-frame astrophotography while also providing excellent performance for visual observation. With a 107mm aperture and 740mm focal length, it offers a useful combination of resolution and focal length for imaging nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and other deep-sky targets.
The 107PHQ uses a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical design incorporating two ED glass elements for strong chromatic aberration correction. An integrated field corrector provides a flat 44mm image circle, allowing the telescope to be used for full-frame imaging without requiring a separate field flattener.
A large 3.4" rack-and-pinion focuser provides 110mm of travel and is designed to support imaging equipment weighing up to approximately 8 kg. The focuser includes fine adjustment and can be rotated for precise camera framing. Multiple threaded connections are provided for photographic setups, including M86, M68, M54, and M48.
The telescope includes a retractable dew shield, tube rings with carrying handle, 300mm Vixen-style dovetail plate, four-piece photographic adapter set, and an aluminum carrying case.
An optional 0.7x reducer is available for the 107PHQ. With the reducer, the telescope operates at approximately 524mm focal length and f/4.9 while retaining a full-frame image circle.
