1. Low Temperature Tolerance: can be used at extremely low temperatures down to -20'C.

2. HeavyLoad Mode: To combat the impact of cold environments on the mount, enabling this mode in the app can significantly enhance the device's load capacity. If you experience load capacity issues with the AM5 in harsh, cold environments, it is recommended to activate this mode.

3. Cable Management: The dovetail plate integrates DC output and USB Type-C ports, effectively preventing cable tangling.

Traditional equatorial mounts often require heavy counterweights, making them cumbersome and difficult to balance in RA and DEC directions, also inconvenient for transit, storage and assembling; While some newer harmonic mount may lack multifunctionality, have insufficient load capacity, and suffer from stability issues and cable tangling.

To address these issues, the new AM5 Harmonic Mount (2024 edition) eliminates the need for counterweights, offers high load capacity (15kg without counterweights, 20kg with a 5kg counterweight), and balances portability with stability. The ZWO's customized strain wave geared reducer ensures precision with an accuracy within +/-10". It can be used as both an equatorial and alt-azimuth mount, with an altitude adjustment range of 0-90 degrees.

Impact Structure:

The internal structure is optimized with a strain wave geared reducer and synchronous belt, achieving precise control with a 300:1 reduction ratio.

Astronomy-Dedicated Strain Wave Gear:

Developed in collaboration with well-known strain wave gear manufacturers, this motor is tailored for astrophotography, offering ultra-low periodic error, stable transmission, and high torque output. Each mount is tested to ensure a periodic error within +/-10 arcseconds, guaranteeing its performance.
