This color CMOS USB 3.0 camera from ZWO features the Sony IMX485 sensor, with a 2.9 micrometer pixel size and a full-well depth of 13ke. The IMX485 sensor provides a large resolution of 3840 x 2160 as well as very high sensitivity and very low read out noise.

The IMX485 sensor measures 11.13 mm x 6.26 mm, with a diagonal of 12.86 mm. A major benefit of this sensor is the incorporation of STARVIS technology. This allows for excellent visibility at low illumination, and can provide high light efficiency and high astrophoto quality in visible and near-infrared light spectra. The ASI485MC is ideal for solar, lunar, and planetary imaging, and can also be used as an all-sky camera.

The ASI485MC features a USB 3.0 port which provides a 5Gb bandwidth to allow up to 39 FPS in 10-bit high speed mode or 27.2 FPS in 12-bit normal mode at the full resolution of ~8.2MP. The USB interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0. The ST4 port allows for connection to auto guiding mount ports for guiding.
