This case is for the Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) ONLY. It includes two lockable latches, three steel-reinforced handles, a 2" by 30" steel hinge and die-cut foam lining for the telescope optical tube. It can be carried by two people using the two handles on either end or pulled using the attached wheels. The foam is configured at the factory for the 9¼" optical tube. You simply pull out precut sections to increase the cavity size to match the 11" or 14" optical tube. The finder scope and diagonal must be detached and carried separately (14" OTA) or wrapped for protection and inserted in the extra space in the case (11" OTA). An adapter bracket is included (see below) for instant accurate repositioning when attaching the finder scope. The wheels must be attached to the case by the customer which is easily accomplished in a few seconds with no tools required. An optional Large-Wheel Upgrade is available.
Outside dimensions of the case are approximately 37 x 21" x 18" and its empty weight is approximately 23.6 lbs.
The shipping box is approximately 26-1/4" x 19" x 38-1/2" (FedEx Ground dimensional weight is at 100 lbs) and the shipping weight is approximately 31.0 lbs. All values are subject to slight changes.
A three-point automatic-repositioning quick-release finder bracket allows the finder scope (shown here) to be removed and placed in the carrying case without loosing positioning. Simply reinstall the finder with a single thumbscrew and you are ready to go.
