Meade Eyepiece Holder for Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes
* The Meade Eyepiece Holder (aka "Visual Back") allows attachment of 1.25" accessories to the rear cell of standard Cassegrain style telescopes.
* Large thumbscrew tightens down and holds 1.25" diagonals, basic camera adapters, tele-extenders, etc. in place.
The 1.25" eyepiece holder, also known as a "visual back", screws onto the 2" rear cell of Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes. Once the eyepiece holder is in place, astronomical accessories with 1.25" barrels, such as Basic Camera Adapters, Tele-Extenders, etc., slide into the other end, allowing the user to do astrophotography with their film or digital SLR camera and the proper T-ring.
This eyepiece holder used to be included as standard equipment with Meade's 7"-10" Schmidt Cassegrains (LX90, LX10, LX50, classic LX200's, etc.), but are now optional with the latest LX series of telescopes due to the addition of the standard #1209 focuser.
If you would like to do eyepiece projection photography with your LX200 telescope and you do not have an eyepiece holder, you'll need one, plus a tele-extender, a T-ring, and your SLR or DSLR camera.
