Collimating a telescope is the process of lining up its optical components; such as lenses, mirrors, prisms and eyepieces. When components are poorly aligned, image quality suffers greatly and the telescope's performance capabilities are lost. While the thought of collimating a telescope might seem intimidating, it's not so hard when you have the proper collimation tools By having the correct equipment, like a laser collimator, you run far less risk of mis-alignment and the security the proper tools offer will make this routine maintenance action far less daunting.
The optical performance of most Newtonian telescopes can be optimized by collimating, or realigning, the telescope?s optics, as needed. This procedure is easily accomplished with Celestron?s Collimation Tool, a handy accessory that comes with detailed instructions
NOW improved to readily accept the use of a barlow or holographic attachment! These single beam collimators have now been improved and will accept a custom screw in barlow lens for accurate primary mirror adjustment.

LightPipe/SightTube Combination
This unique and innovative collimator combines the LightPipe with the SightTube into one easier to use, lower-cost tool. The LightPipe functions just like a Cheshire collimator, but with two important differences. Fi... [more]
Indispensable for fast and convenient collimation of Newtonians! You will wonder how you ever lived without one. Our unique collimator uses a 650nm, 3.5mW, class IIIA red diode laser that is very easy to see and safe. Collimate either day or night! The... [more]
The Blug is Howie's newest Newtonian collimation accessory (Blug is short for Barlowed collimation plug). The Blug is used together with a regular laser collimator in single beam mode to perform Barlowed laser Newtonian primary mirror alignment.

Takahashi collimating scope for CN-212 and refractors
The Takahashi collimating scope is a 6 x 18mm telescope used to collimate the Takahashi CN-212 reflector and Takahashi refractors 1000mm in focal length and longer. The focusing eyepiece at the ... [more]
The Autocollimator is used to fine tune the optical alignment after using the LightPipe/SightTube or a laser collimator. It utilizes a flat mirror that gives a multiple reflections through the optical system. This is 2-4 times the accuracy ... [more]
